OFFICE HOURS: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. M-F
Building Permits are issued from 8:30 a.m - 4:30 p.m. On Fridays, permits are not issued after 4:00 p.m.
Cash, check, money orders and credit cards are accepted.

OBTAINING PERMITS: Building permit applications can be issued in the office at 5300 US 10 in Ludington or may be obtained by downloading a building permit application. Building permit applications handled through the mail require an additional $25 administrative fee. Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing permits can be downloaded and returned by mail (no mail-in fee) with an original signature or can be obtained at the office. Permits cannot be completed online at this time.
CITY OF LUDINGTON OR PERE MARQUETTE RESIDENT?: This department handles Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing permits for all of Mason County. The Building Inspector for the City of Ludington can be reached at (231) 843-2956. The Building Inspector for Pere Marquette Charter Township can be reached at (231) 845-1277.
