The County Clerk's Office maintains the records for the 51st Circuit Court at the Courthouse.
The Clerk is responsible for maintaining civil, criminal, domestic, custody and support, and personal protection order files for Circuit Court.
The County Clerk's Office accepts new case filings, case pleadings, performs record searches, and issues certified copies of documents for the 51st Circuit Court. The Clerk's Office staff is not permitted to provide legal advice.
Payment of the 51st Circuit Court-ordered restitution, costs, and fines are accepted at the County Clerk's Office in person, by mail, or by Debit/Credit Card payments using the link below.
There are two payment type options:
- Clerk - Circuit Court Bond, this option is to be used when posting bond only. The processing company charges a 7% fee for Debit/Credit Card payments.
- Clerk's Service Fees, this option is to be used for all other Circuit Court related payments (i.e., court assessments, restitution, motion fees, new case filing fees, copy fees, etc.) The processing company charges a 3% fee for Debit/Credit Card payments.

Processing bond refunds for criminal matters begins at the County Clerk's Office.

How to Search the Records of the 51st Circuit Court
By clicking on the link below, you will leave the courts pages of the Mason County Government website and will go to the Michigan Courts: One Court of Justice terms-of-service page of the website maintained by Judicial Information Services (JIS). Read the terms of service, select "I'm not a robot" and any images as directed until a green arrow appears, and then click continue. Enter the name of a party or a file number and click submit. When the results of the search are retrieved, you can scroll through them and click on the file number of a particular case to view the register of actions, or you can narrow your search by applying the limiting filters provided.For ease of viewing and reading the details of the case file, you can expand or collapse each section. Click print on the top right-hand side of the page if you want a hard copy of the information. You can also click on the breadcrumb trail at the top left-hand side of the page either to return to the search results for the name you entered or to start a new search for a different name.
